How to Choose the Right Press Tonnage for Your Production LK-T63 vs LK-T80 vs LK-T130 Aluminum Foil Container Press Selection Guide

Why “Impulsive” Press Selection Usually Costs You Money

In aluminum foil container manufacturing, press selection is the first decision that defines long-term competitiveness and cost structure. Many production managers fall into two traps:

  • Buying oversized tonnage: Assuming “bigger is safer,” they pay a premium upfront and run high idle energy and lubrication costs—classic overcapacity.
  • Underestimating future molds: Ignoring 1–3 year mold upgrades (e.g. single-cavity to 4-cavity), they end up with insufficient shut height or bed size and face a second equipment purchase soon after.

The real question is not “what is the biggest press I can afford,” but where is the sweet spot between “just enough” and “room to grow”. Below is LIKEE’s practical selection logic across our three core models: 63-ton, 80-ton, and 130-ton.

How LIKEE Presses Solve These Problems

LIKEE offers a graduated 63–130 ton range so startups, mid-size plants, and high-volume groups all find a matching press.

Advantage 1: Precise Match on Cavity Count and Frame Structure

  • LK-T63 (3-cavity baseline): Built for 3-cavity molds, framed in a C-type open frame. Ideal for small/medium foil containers where mold cavity stays ≤3. Best price-performance for stable, simple SKUs.
  • LK-T80 (4–6 cavity upgrade): Designed for 4 to 6-cavity molds, upgraded to an H-type closed frame. The H-frame delivers higher rigidity and anti-deflection stability under high-speed multi-cavity stamping—protecting mold alignment and extending tool life.
  • LK-T130 (6+ cavity flagship): Built for wide-format, high-output lines, also H-frame, with bed size up to 1500×1000 mm for oversized tooling and max throughput.

Advantage 2: Cleaner Oil Circuit and Lower Long-Term Energy Cost

Traditional presses leak grease and demand frequent cleanup. LIKEE splits the lineup clearly:

  • T63: Conventional lithium-based grease lubrication.
  • T80 / T130: Closed-loop lubrication system—no external oil mist, no floor contamination, and measurably lower oil consumption. If budget allows, T80+ pays back the price gap through saved lubricant and housekeeping costs within 1–2 years.

Advantage 3: Smart Control and Operator-Safe Design

  • Mitsubishi PLC + Siemens/Schneider low-voltage parts across all models.
  • Touchscreen fault display with auto-counting; downtime for diagnostics drops sharply.
  • 60-set mold parameter memory: switch SKUs, recall stored stroke/feed settings, resume in minutes.
  • Mold lift arm standard on bedplate; safety door interlock (open door = auto stop) on every machine.

FAQ

Q1: What are the main differences between LK-T63 and LK-T80?

A: Three hard differences:

① Cavity – T63 for 3-cavity, T80 for 4–6 cavity.

② Frame – T63 C-frame, T80 H-frame (higher rigidity, better mold protection).

③ Lube – T63 lithium grease, T80 closed-loop (cleaner, saves oil). If capex permits, T80 wins on 3-year total cost.

Q2: I only run 3-cavity today—should I still buy T80 or T130?

A: If you are certain no cavity upgrade in 3 years, T63 is the rational buy. If you plan any mold expansion, T80’s H-frame + closed lube offsets the price gap via uptime and oil savings. T130 is for 6+ cavity, wide-foil, group-scale lines only.

Q3: Is daily maintenance complicated?

A: No. 60-recipe memory and touchscreen alarms make changeover and troubleshooting operator-level work. T80/T130 closed lube removes daily grease wiping; only periodic oil-level and filter checks remain.

Q4: Do you only sell machines?

A: No. We also supply consumables and packaging materials including aluminum foil coils, stamping oil, tape, and cartons for finished products. Everything you need to start production from one supplier.
